What is MetCon?
‘Metabolic Conditioning’ is a form of interval based training that works both strength and cardiovascular systems. It puts your metabolism in to hyperdrive and burns fat!
Kaizen Centre MetCon is a short and intense fitness and conditioning session. After a thorough warm up, you are taught and drilled through exercise technique, taught new movements and patterns, then shown the MetCon routine. It will vary from week to week, always pushing for new skills and then creating body and fitness adaptations.
They will vary from individual challenges to team endeavours. The MetCon circuit is a short high intensity burst of effort, pushing your limits, stressing your muscles and CV! You will sweat!
Members of a class can pace themselves and pick an intensity level that suits their current fitness position. You will be pushed, but you remain in charge, working at a level you choose. But you will be pushed! Yes, it’s said twice for a reason.
Starting to get fit?
New starters to a MetCon session are asked to work within their limits, to pace themselves and then raise their own bar when ready.
After an intense interval circuit, heart rates are lowered methodically with a cool down and then the body gets stretched to improve recovery, so we can do it all again tomorrow!
